FAQ

Do I need a license for a few hens?

Not for selling your own eggs on your own premises to individuals. You need one to sell to retailers or manufacturers.

Can I sell at a farmers market?

The exemption text covers your own premises. Markets and delivery were not addressed, so ask LDAF first.

What if my eggs get warm?

Eggs above 45°F in transit, storage or display can be seized and destroyed by LDAF inspectors.
